I first met Libby and Rusty at a coffee shop when they were interested in finding a North Carolina wedding photographer, and they told me about their wedding. They spoke about location and timing, and what kind of day they wanted to have. What they didn’t say, was that they were truly a remarkable love. People never really come out and say that type of thing after all. I didn’t realize just how special they were together until I met up with them for their engagement photos a couple of months later. Seeing them interact together brought a whole new layer to this couple that I wasn’t able to glimpse in our first meeting.
By the time the wedding day came, I knew they would bring something special. Rusty made Libby, with her sweet demeanor, laugh and grin the way I haven’t seen anyone else – he would carry her train, or bouquet for her, and asked how she was doing as her girls and family excitedly awaited the ceremony. Libby seemed to ground her new husband, a surefire rock as they grow old together, and looked at Rusty like a bride should see her groom, putting one heck of a giant grin on his face when he saw her for the first time. It’s such a privilege to be able to witness wedding days like these, filled with palpable love and affection. This is just a very small peek into their beautiful day:
