Virginia is for lovers. It’s also for really, really adorable english bulldogs named Walter and his sweet newly engaged parents. Erin and John asked me up to Virginia for a little Charlottesville film photography, and an added bonus of getting in some really great Walter snuggles – I was in. The mountains of Virginia are some of my favorite places to shoot, and with the leaves just starting to change in the area, it looked like a little slice of photographer heaven.
We started near a local park, a favorite of Walter’s, and quickly added a new item to my list of funny photography experiences – as I picked up a large tree branch and threw it out of a shot, a white blur shot past me and launched into mid air tumbling into a pile of brush and quickly attempting to drag the giant tree away. Apparently sir Walter has a thing for sticks – and no one warned me. I can safely say I’ve never had a client look quite so cute in their determination, and I think he’ll surely make a great role model for the litter of puppies that Erin is fostering!
A big thanks to Erin and John for bringing me up to beautiful Virginia for this beautiful session, and to the kind former North Carolinian that let us use his pretty farmland property on short notice! If you’re interested in your own Virginia film photography, contact me to set up a session!
